Like many other resorts in the Versilia also Forte dei Marmi has established itself as shopping center by the sea. However, in the heart of the city are not many shops offering goods at the low price: along the major streets dedicated to purchases are proudly displayed the windows of the big names of international fashion world.

The shopping area, partly pedestrian and bicycle, is concentrated between Piazza Garibaldi, Via Roma, Via Mazzini and Piazza Dante. Is here that are collected small fashion boutiques and ateliers of the most famous fashion designers in Italy and abroad. In Forte dei Marmi can be found everything from clothing to crafts, from food to jewelry and design furnishings. In the hot summer days this outdoor mall welcomes especially celebrities, russian and arab tycoons and many curious tourists peering inside the expensive windows.

Every Wednesday, and in the summer also every Sunday, in Piazza Marconi is held the Market of Forte. This is not like any town market, there is in fact only quality goods, clothes and accessories of the best fashion brands. Also the prices are much lower than nearby boutiques. The banks that expose the goods are placed all around the square shaded by large pines up to 14 hour. Also at the market can be found clothes, jewelry, handbags, shoes and household items.
